Terrorist attacks in India. The news out of India has been very all over the place –not much factual. It is claimed that 10 terrorists spread over the country managed all of this damage with the India gov taking several days to stop the slaughter of powerless men women and kids. A terrorist attack must be stopped by a quick response of minutes –not hours. Every terrorist attack in history that was more that a bomb gained momentum by the awkwardness and don’t know what to do attitude of law enforcement. I can’t imagine the India gov taking several days to stop 2 terrorists trying to go room to room on a killing spree focused on American, British, Israeli, …. In the first few minutes special swat marine teams should have came down from the roof and from the ground floor -to meet in the middle -and found and isolated the terrorists. The advantage is with the terrorist because he does not care who he kills; and security forces would like to wait 2 weeks before making an assault on a large building with grenades being rolled at you. So the choice is to have quick response teams that know what to do; or let unarmed helpless folks die –your choice. The special placing of civilians with training to shoot will eventually become a part of the security of free nations. The cowardly acts of the hotel security and India police on the scene should be realized. Sometimes being a coward is a much easier choice than you might think. In any case, the Obama team must not be cutting military spending. The US military must be up-graded to one of quick response, highly technical, highly mobile, and a long range view of sophisticated weapons that will not allow an enemy to consider war. The bottom line is not cutting military spending; but to re-focus more on the technology of 2009.
