BP Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill: What should have been done?

1   This explosion should be treated as a terrorist attack until proven otherwise. With the thousands of oil rigs out in the world, -this is the first one to blow the h up -and the location of this well was perfect to pollute all of the Gulf Coast. The BP crew member that was first on to the lifeboat should be the number 1 suspect. Of course, an explosive could have been placed form a diver from a fishing boat. The nature of America to be asleep to the dangers of terrorists is remarkable, -one would think after 9-11 we would be more active in defending America. The nature of this explosion on this rig was just really weird. I’m not throwing out the conspiracy theory, -just common sense investigation to make sure what happened.
2   The oil should have been burned immediately after the leak, while the sea was calm -to not make that decision was ignorance.
3   America in the year 2010, after 9-11, -should have a chemical fire extinguisher that will suffocate a fuel fire -that can be used on a large scale -such as an oil well explosion. If you put the fire out quickly, -most  of the pipe and safety valves would be operational -and the oil spill would be stopped the first day.
4   Why do we not have a ship designed for 1 purpose: To skim oil off of ocean water under most all weather conditions. Oil spills will happen even if US off-shore quit today, -every other country in the world -esp Russia and China would still be drilling within 50 miles of Alaska and Florida. And I truly doubt if they would jump in with the $Billions of dollars, -and all of their resources like BP has.
5   This actually makes Drill Baby Drill that much more relevant. Drill Baby Drill stands for:
a) Looking at ALL US territory on-shore and off-shore and deciding which areas are the best to drill in from a production and environmental common sense view. 
b) Fast Tracking Nuclear Plants to boost US energy needs without importing the $500B/year of crude oil imports. Any improvement in the US economy will easily shoot crude oil imports over $1Trillion/year.
c) One thing you don’t know: The demand for crude oil is going up, -this is the only way developing countries can survive. There is only so much crude oil output in the world today -and for the next 100 years, -and folks, -we have reached that level of supply leveling off -and demand causing oil to head to $100, $200/barallel, -with shortages.
d) It is imperative that laws be passed that apply to all domestic vehicles that actually is serious, -such as 50+ mpg a lot quicker than the car unions and lobbyists are willing to allow.
e) It is absurd that America is not using natural gas to power large trucks. Wal-Mart by themselves gives enough infrastructure to provide the locations necessary to re-fuel.
f) These damn politicians subsidizing corn ethanol for votes is sick anti-American lying for votes. To import Brazil ethanol would cut the cost of gasoline by 50cents/gallon. You see, politicians have a large tariff on Brazil ethanol, -even though Brazil ethanol is a higher quality giving you better mileage and acceleration. Not using ethanol at all -until we can use switchgrass -or find some  common sense way to make quality ethanol -should be an option.
g) Fast Tracking Nuclear Plants also justifies the electric car. Without nuclear power, -you are just plugging an electric car into a coal fired generating plant.
